Neo's powers are easily explained by having the Prime Program. Neo and Zion exist in this upper level, but are still wired to the system and everything is just a ruse to make them think they have a choice when in fact they do not. The first is that the "Real World" is in fact just another Matrix. Each with its own set of consequences to the story. Neo's control of machines outside The Matrix has two lines of reasoning. After his death, The Oracle would begin to spread the prophecy of his return, perpetuating the cycle.Įdit to answer a few other questions. After the destruction of Zion, The One would create a new Zion with a select few people on the Matrix. He was supposed to be guided by The Oracle to meet The Architect, reinserting the Prime Program he carried, thereby rebooting the Matrix.

The One carried an important part of code from the Matrix (the Prime Program) that gave him a greater form of control over the Matrix (aka Neo's Powers). Every time Zion grew too big (around 250.000 people I think), The One would be born. For that purpose, the Architect and The Oracle created the concept of The One. If left unchecked, the city would eventually grow too powerful. But this in turn created the problem of controlling Zion. That's why The Architect allowed Zion to survive, to preserve the Matrix and to remove the people that were aware that they were inside a program. If left unchecked in the system, these people behaved like a virus, making other people aware that they lived in a fake world, destabilizing the whole system. A small number of people would still reject the Matrix. Of course that this acceptance was not universal. She concluded, that if people were given a choice to accept or reject the Matrix (even if they weren't aware they were being given that choice), they would overwhelmingly accept the program anyway. This was also a failure because people couldn't accept it. The second Matrix was a "Nightmare Scenario", wars raged so as to appease the sadistic nature of humanity. Human psyche could not handle this overload of perfection and rejected the program. The first was a "Perfect World Scenario" where everybody was happy and life was good. Why were the machines using humans instead of geothermal (Magma) energy while Zion found itself comfortable to do so?īefore the current version of the Matrix, the machines created other versions. Neo's real world super powers, stopping the sentinels and vision without eyes.Īgent Smith's rejection of matrix and connection with Neo. and still don't get that part! What is it about Choice and the Matrix? What did the Oracle figure about humanity that made them believe in the Matrix as their reality? I'd be so thankful to anyone who can put this Philosophy in simple English.Įdit: Thank you everyone! So far there have been 5 attempts to answer the question, What i thought would be a casual discussion of movie fanatics has become a great intro to Philosophy! Wow i reading all the threads and i'd highly recommend everybody interested in the movie to do so.

Who knows what else the Architect lied about.Like seriously, I've been watching this movie on and on. In Revolutions the Oracle told us basically that the Architect lied to Neo to try to coax him into entering the source so he could eliminate the anomoly he has tried so desperately to prevent. And it ended just as prophecised.the one touched the source and brought an end to the war. Neo was never supposed to pick the door that led to the source. In Revolutions The Oracle can still see into "the future".which means the path of the one did not end in the source. She only knows the path up untill the end because that is all that pertains to her purpose, to guide the one on his path. Obviously this is not true because the Oracle cannot see past the path of the one. He told Neo that his purpose was to enter the source and re-insert his code into the prime program of the Matrix.that his path ended there. The architect did lie.I'm not sure if he was lying about what you are speaking of in your post but he did lie in their meeting.
